The 2015 update to the Australian Standard for forklift trucks significantly enhanced safety requirements, yet forklift trucks commonly exceed a lifespan of 20 years. Approximately half of the currently operational machines in Australia are pre 2015 and therefore are not compliant with the current standard. . Under WHS legislation, PCBUs are mandated to employ all feasible measures for a safe workplace. This session will delve into the obligations for PCBUs to enhance safety standards of older machines, practical upgrades for such equipment, and the unique maintenance challenges requiring consideration.
